MINING EXHIBITION.
(nv KLKWKIO TKM'AIIIAPII.— COI'VKIC IIT.) Loxno.v, Ju'y 31. Till-: Kirl of Jersey and Lord Knutsford visited the Mining Exhibition to-day. The former thought the inhibition a' perfect revelation of the extent of the mineral wealth in Australia, and especially in New South Wales. He expressed aii opinion that the coal mines must encourage the investment of English capital, and both noblemen were astonished at the mineral resources of the colonies generally and were particularly struck with the S mill Australian copper and New South Wales silver, TheKulof .Jersey has appointed Mr den. disehen, son of the Chancellor of the Kxcheipier, as his private secretary.
