WlcDN'Ksn.vY.—(Before Captain Jacksom R.M.) W.ukato Hospital and Ciiauitaiilk Am Board r. Sam Johnston'.— Claim for maintenance of parents. Ml' Hay appeared for the plaintiffs. James Hally, solicitor, deposed ho knew the parents of tho defendant, they lived in Cambridge. They are quite destitute. Tho defendant was an able-bodied man. Ho did not know whether he is in work or not. He kuew Robt. Johnston and his wife are kept by tho Charitable Aid Board.—T. G. Scmdes, surveyor, deposed that he was a member of the Waikato Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, and also a member of the House Committee of that Board. As a member of tho committee he knew tiiat tho letter producod had been written by order of tho Board, and also that the other lettor was the reply sent thereto. The defendant works up Matamata way. He had been in constant work since Christmas. Was working at Firth's flax-mill, aftorwards owned by Aitkon. Did not know whether he had a homestead. He is a single man. Has a brother named Robt. .Tohnson, also working at. Matamata in charge of some orchards, who c mtributed to the support of Ins parents foi some considerable time, but as Samuel would not assist he .stopped his contribution, in order to make him do so. Sam Johnston is working at clearing, and thought he was making about ."is per day.—The bench made an order that the defendant should pay Os per week towards tho maintenance of his parents.

Mrl'incitso.v v. I'i;ki> C.mitkk. —Tho plaintiff (the dog-icgister fur tlio Waikato County) sued F. Carter for tliu license of a greyhound dog. 110 said that Carter had written acknowledging the debt, and that ho would pay it nt once, but ho wanted costs. The case was adjourned till tho 18th, in order that tho defendant might send up tho costs. Hinton v. I'ohhi-mt.—J was deferred in this case till next court day.
