The weather having cleared up at lunchtime the players wore enabled to make a start. In the match Australians p. Derbyshire, the former scored 10S. Murdoch played a steady innings of 20 ; Trott, ir>; Gregory not out, 22; Truinble, 22. Blackham is taking a rest on this occasion. The weather still remained somewhat show cry, and the wicket was very soft. Spnfforth took three wickets for 3-1. The county lost one wicket for Hi. The following eleven will represent Lyne Ulub against the Australians at Stoke: — C. J. Thornton, Lord Harris, W. T. Roller. W. W. Reed, Stodrlart, McGregor, O'Brien, Lolmiann, Brigg.*, I'eel, and iUaimcc Read.
