Rktout:— Notwithstanding the wist weather yesterday there was a very largo attendance at the special horse sale at Hamilton. Competition was spirited, mid excellent prices were obtained, but owing to the rain setting in the sale had to bo postponed before the whole of the lots were offered. Close on 250 horses were catalogued, most of them being of a better stamp than thoso brought forward of late, and draughts and hacks claimed special attention. One very handsome unbroken colt Was passed at £21, the reserve being £25, and some fine colts and fillies by Ingonuir were withdrawn at £18, £19, and £20, respectively, about £5 higher being wanted in each case. The well known steeplechaser Peter did not reach his reserve, £jO, only £20 being offered. The prices ranged as under: —Unbroken colts, and fillies £7 to £15 ; draughts from £lj to £21, according to condition and size (one powerful five-year-old horse realising £24 10s); hacks from £-1 to £15. The sale will be resumed at 7 a.m. to-day (Thursday), there still being over 100 horses to be ottered. MARKET REPORTS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report under date Adelaide, May 30th, as follows Wheat: The demand for wheat during the past week has continued good, but prices have materially declined. We have made sales of prime wheat up to 3s Did to 3s lOd per bushel, at our store door, Port Adelaide, and quote values to-day at 3s 9d. Undor date, 3rd insfc.. our London house wired us as follows : —" The market is very weak. The weather for the English crop is favourable. The American maiket continues drooping. Adelaide and Victorian wheat is worth 37s Gd per 490 lbs. Adelaide wheat to arrive, cx iron ship, is worth c.i.f. 30s per 480 lbs. March-April B | L Victorian wheat to arrive, ex iron ship, is worth c.i.f. 35s 3d per 480 lbs. March-April B| L. Victorian wheat f.a.q., is worth c.i.f. to arrive, 34s per 480 lbs.''—Flour: Best patent roller is quoted at £8 17s 0d to £9 2s 6d per ton, f.0.b., Port Adelaide, and country superfine, £7 10s to £8, with a dull market. In the absence of colonial demand,' several Darcels have been forwarded by steamer for sale in London. Oats (duty, 2s per cental). —Spot parcels have been sold at 2s 3d per bushel in bond, hut for forward delivery a concession on this price is obtainable. Potatoes (duty 20s per ton.)—We have experienced an improved demand for Circular Head potatoes, and quote values to-day nt £4 2.i lid to £4 7s oj, in bond, for prime samples.'
