RAILWAY EMPLOYEES.
[by TKLKGKAPH—I'IIESH ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, June 25. When the Conference between the Commissioners and the, Executive resumed this morning Mr McKerrow said after careful consideration tlio Commissioners agreed to accept the proposals of the delegates for 54 hours per weok (including the concessions). It would, lie said, be fully two years before the alterations could be brought completely into force, but in the meantime the men would bo paid over time, after fifty-four hours ; of course there were a few exceptional cases which would have to be treated according to their merit, but he felt sure the Executive would not object to these exceptional cases beinsr treated differently. Mr Winter remarked that all the difficulty had now been obvi.ited and tfe whole body of railway servants would be extremely grateful to the Commissioners and their work would, in fact, be a pleasure to them. The delegates leave for Christchurch this afternoon.
