The Waihato Timet Office, Wednesday, MARKET REPORTS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as under Brisbane, May 19. —Oats: (Duty, 8d per bushel.) Demands fair. No really prime samples of feed offering. Stocks are light at present, but the "Colac is due at the end of May, and has a large shipment for Brisbane. Values, 2s lid to Js Id d.p. Wheat: (Free.) Thero is a good enquiry. Market unchanged.—Potatoes : (Duty, los per ton.) Market is easier, owing to large quantities on the way. The local crop, which is expected to be a good one, is beginning to come forward. • Gircalar Heads are worth £5 5s to £5 10s ; prime New Zealands, £4 15s to £4 17sSd.—Cheese: (Duty, 31 per lb.) Fair demand for medium sizes at 72d to Bd. Demand for loaf sizes quiet, and may be quoted nominally at up to BJd.—Hams and bacon : (Duty, 3d per lb.) "Market unchanged since our last. Adelaide, May 23.—Wheat: There has bean a very keen demand for wheat during the past week, and prices have shown an upward tendency, and we have effected siles aggregating about 50,000 bushels at fall rates, and now quote prime wheat at 3s 10d to 3s lid per bushel on trucks Pert Adelaide, gross weight, baps included, and inferior wheat at proportional prices, according to quality and condition, from 3s 3d to 2s Bd. The demand is purely a local one, as shipments cannot be made to England at equal to these prices. Under date 20th instant our London house wired us as follows" Wheat and flour.—The market is weak. Victorian wheat is worth 38s per 4981b5. ex warehouse, 35s 3d per 4Solbs to arrive ox iron ship c.i.f., March-April bill of lading, and 34s 9d per 4Solbs. f.a.q., c.i.f, to arrive for parcels."—Oats (duty 2s per cental): Spot parcels are worth 2s 4d per bushel in bond, but prices for forward delivery are again about 2d per bushel less. —Butter (duty 2d per lb): Prime potted continues in demand at about lOd per lb in bond.—Potatoes (duty 20s per ton): Owing to the heavy importations prices have fallen considerably, and whereas a week ago £5 per ton was obtainable for Circular Heads, values have fallen to £410s per ton in bond. If importations are kept within moderate bounds we look for a recovery in prices.
