A CORRECTION
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l notice in your paper of the 10th inst. that I pan reported to have said at the Waikato Farmers' Club meeting at Hamilton, "That the so-called 'moke was not to be judged by outward appearances ; that I had used one during the hunting season, and it had carried me just as well as a good horse." This, I beg to state, is inaccurate, though I did express myself as disagreeing with the remarks made, that the horses in Waikato generally, and the stallions that have been used iu the district during the last few years, are of an inferior kind, oo far as my hunting on a " moke is concerned, I may say that, to the best of my recollection, I have only witnessed two hunts in Waikato, and at one I saw, as J. said at the meeting, the horses jumping well in the Cambridge district, considering they had no apparent preparation. On both these occasions T myself rode horses that 1 have since sold for £30 and £40, respectively, and, when takiug local prices into consideration, I think this would hardly convey tiie idea that I was mounted on a "inoke. —Yours truly, A. Ukuof, Surroii.
