The Waikato Times Office, Friday. waikato live stock markets. Messrs McNicol and Co. report: At Ohaupo on Tuesday we had a very succssful sale. Turnip drill made £37 ; winnowing machine. £3 10s; flexible harrows, £1 15s ; tine harrows, £2 ; farm waggon, £10. Dairy cowß, £3 10s to £3 V2h Gd ; turnip steers, £3 7s (id to £4 ; empty cows, £1 2s to £1 18s ; eighteen-month heifers, los; steer calves, Ins ; eiehteen-month steers, 27s ; fat cows, from £2 10s to £5 10s. Sheep found a ready sale, every pen being cleared, and we sold 3305 at the" following prices :—Merino ewes, Oh Id to 7s (id ; half-bred ewes, 5s 3d to 6s Od; crossbred ewes, 8* 3d to 0s Id; lambs in wool (small), 5s (id; good shorn, Ss. Wo have sold privately during the week 100 good turnip steers at £4 5s ; GO at £4 7s Gd, and 28 at £4 2i od. Wβ have to arrive early in July 4,000 halfbred and crossbred ewes from Taharua, and have to sell without reserve, on account of J. D. Adams, Esq., on Friday, 13th June, 2300 splendid two and four-tooth ewes and 1700 halfbred lambs, besides 100 turnip steers, pedigree Polled Angus cattle, and the whole of his dead stock. BUOKLAND ANdSoNS , WEEKLY Report.—At the haymarket during the past; week the sales have resulted as follows :—Meadow hay, 2s 3d to 4s ; oaten sheaves, 2s to 2s 6d per cwt. ; new maize, on wharf, 2s 8d per bushel; old maize, 3s 3d ; oats, lslOd to 2s 2d ; onions, id to Id per lb. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, cows sold at l-o|d to 2d ; calfskins, 3jd to 4£d ; ox hides, light, 2d to ; medium, 3d to 3Jd; heavy, Id to 4gd; butchers' skins, from 4s to Ds 2d : station skins, 2s to 4s each. Tallow, lGs to 19s 6d per cwt; horns, |d each ; bones, £4 12s Gd, wool, 6jd. At Remnera on Thursday dairy cattle were in full number and steady demand ; prices ranged from £4 to £5 each ; store cattle at lato values. The working oxen were untiold. Fat cattle, in short supply, sold freely at a considerable advance; ox beef, steady at lGs per 1001b. Fat sheep, in less than usual number, also advanced in price, yet a draft of unusally heavy wethers of choioi quality were withdrawn. The ewes advertised brought from Ss to 12s each. Pigs in moderate numbers were sold at late values. Mkssus Huntkr and Nolan's Weekly Kei'OKT.— Grain, seeds, horsefeed, &c. : Quietness has again characterised the market, with little or no alteration in value. We quote: Oats. 2s to 2s 2d per bushel; bran, £3 15s to £4 per ton ; oaten chaff, £2 10s to £3. Horses : A steady demand has existed, and a moderate number has been brought forward, and the previous week's values were sustained. The number submitted at the Durham Yards was not so large as on the previous week, but there was brisk bidding. Wo quolo : Hacks, at from £4 IDs to £!) W» ; light harness horses, £4 10s to £1110s; draught, £7 to £15 10s. Wool, hides, skinu, tallow, &c.: Increased quantities were brought forward and pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and there was keen competition for all the lots. We quote: Ox hides, extra heavy, 4d to 0d per lb ; stout ex, 3d to 4d ; light and cow, to 2jd; calfskins, to 4.^1; butchers' sheepskins, 4s 4d to 03 Od; country, 2s to 3s 0d each ; lambskins, 3s Oil to 4s 9d each ; wool, in bags, Gid to 7d uer lb ; tallow, 17s to 19s Gd per cwt. Cattle : There has been an improved demand for fat beasts, and an upward tendency in value; stores and dairy stock in demand at the previous week's values. There was rather a small muster at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, and for the season of the year there was a laige muster at Papakura and spirited demand, particularly for grown steers ; steer beef sold at irom 14s to lGs per 1001b ; cow, 12s to 14s; soirte averages of steers were: £G 17s Gd, £0 11s, £0 ss, £0 2s Gd, £5 15s, £5 2s Gd, £4 15s; cows, £4, £312s Gd, £3 ss, £3, £2 12s Gd. Sheep were in less than usual numbers at Newmarket on Tuosday ; the demand was strong, and prices had an upward tendency at per stone, although 15s 3d was the top price reached for wethers, and from 9s to lls 9d for ewes ; mixed sexes, 11s Gd to 15s od. Pigs : A good many were yarded, and prices wire low. particularly for rough stores in low condition.
