SQUEEZING UP A PRINCESS.
Thk young Duchess of Fife was the heroine of an amusing little scene the other afternoon. Her Royal Highness and her husband, out on one of those little shopping excursious they so much delight in, went iuto a confectioner's in Regent-street, to have some tea. The Princess was somewhat thickly veiled, and therefore they were not recognised as they took their seats at a little round table and enjoyed their refreshment. Presently the shop became very crowded, and as there was no scat for a young lady who entered, the duke gallantly rose and offered her his seat. Then another lady came, and, being a friend of the one last nccoraodated, s,he rushed up to. her and asked her to make room for her. So three ladies squeezed round the small table, aud the cakes rapidly disappeared from the big dish in the centre. When the Duke and Duchess of Fife rose to leave, a customer in another corner suddenly recognised them, and lost no time in informing the two friends of the fact that they had been squeezing up a Princess of the Royal house at her afternoon tea.
