THE BULGARIANPLOT
PANITZA SENTENCED TO DEATH. (by electric telegraph.— coptbioht.) Sofia, May 30. Tiik Court found the conspirators guilty, and sentenced Major Panitza to be shot, KalopotV, the Russian merchant implicated in the plot, was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment, J-fazo/f and Arnandoff to six, and three others to three years' each. May 31. Major Panitza was recommended to mercy. During the trial it was proved that there had been a conspiracy with foreign assistance to upset the Bulgarian Government, though the personal complicity of the Czar and M. Hitrovo was not proved. M. Montegrino, behevid to be a Russian agent, has been arrested here on suspicion of being connected with the plot to rescue Major Panitza. It is probable that the suggestion of the Court that the sentence passed on Major Panitza be commuted to fifteen years' imprisonment will be adopted. It is expected that Kalopoff, tho Eussian merchant who was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment, will be hauded over to Russia. Juno 1. Major Panitza will appeal against the decision of the Court.
