LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.

[BY TBLKGUAPH—OWN COUUESrONDENT.] Auckland, Last Night. Alp. Patohett Waubmok, the well-known guide and footballer, appeared before Dr. Giles this morning in answer to a summons for not having complied with an order from L the magistrate to support his wife and children. Mr Cooper appeared for Warbrick and said the order as a matter of fact was not law as far as native races were concerned. He did not, however, wish to argue this point now as the discussion might prove a lengthy one and Warbrick had come a long distance to givo his evi- ' dence, and if the magistrate wore willing he would take the evidence now and ad- : journ the discussion of the technical points r till a later date. His Worship decided to I follow this course. Warbrick then gave i evidence to the effect that he had only i earned £70 for the past seven months. Mr 1 Strathern, relieving officer, gave evidence i regarding a conservation with Warbrick at ) Rotorua, in which he said the latter told ' him he earned betweon two and three ; hundred pounds a year. The case was ' adjourned till Saturday.
