NEW PLYMOUTH MURDER.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Plymouth, Last Night. In the New Plymouth murder case the inquest was resumed. Dr. O'Carroll gave evidence as to the injuries Mivloney had sustained to cause death. He described the wounds on the head, and said the whole of tho wounds were inflicted by a right-handed person. Adams' apple of the throat was fractured and smashed to atoms. The windpipe and gullet were completely torn and lacerated from their upper attachments. He stated that death was chiefly due to injuries to the throat. The right collar bone was broken as if the murderer had been pressing his foot or knee upon it. He examined Mahi Kabi's hands, and found traces of splinters on the tops of the fingers. It might have been caused Dy furze. The prisoner said that he got them when cutting furze some time ago. He found blood on the inside of his shirt. The spots were apparently bespatteerd, but he could not say whether it was human blood. He would not be surprised to find such marks on anyone employed in a butcher's shop or slaughter-yard. The splinters might have been caused by handling wood. Dr. Leathern gave evidence that the left eye of deceased was severely contused, the result of a severe blow. From the first he believed the injury was caused before death. The other eye was much swollen, and blood was oozing from his nose and mouth, he considered Maloney must have been lying on his back when the throat injuries were inflicted. __
