AVelt.ixgton, Last Night. It is expected that surveys will be sufficiently advanced to enable 219,020 acres to be offered for sale before 30th June next, namely, 53,000 acres, Auckland ; 20,500, Taranaki ; 12,800, Hawkes Buy ; 50,900, Wellington ; 37,910, Marlborough ; 5,300, Nelson ; 1000, Westland ;. 18,420, Otago. This estimate is independent of the Canterbury returns, which have not yet come in. Dunkdin, Last Night. An unusually large number of applications for second-class land in the Strath, Taieri, and Maniototo Districts came before the board to-day, and will be decided to-morrow. In two hours over 220 were received.
