WAITOA ROAD BOARD.

Thk usual monthly meeting of the Waitoa Koad Board was held in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinaville, on Saturday Inst. There were present Messrs W. P. Chopmell (chairman), H. Burnett, Ed. Hunmer, T. Horrell, and J. Tiirnbulh JFjke.*—The Engineer was instructed to pet the damage that had been done to the Tβ Kawana road by fire repaired. OOBKESFONDBNOE.—The following letters were received and directed to be attended to:—One calling attention to the fact that a certain person near Waihou is causing great damage to the road by carting away the whole surface_ of the road : one from G. L. Grant pointing out the difficulty of driving sheep along the Stanley road owing to the titree; one from Mr R. B. Willis with reference to a pipe culvert opposite Mr J. Wiseman's which requires attention ; one from Mr W, L, C. Williams pointing out that the Waiorongamai road between the Waihou river and the Waihekau creek is flooded during heavy rains owing to the outfall being too small; one from eleven ratepayers and settlers re the -Besessity of opening up a road about 25 Cu-ins long in the suburbs of Te A roha ; and ope from Mr J. Gordon, of theKereone estate, pointjng out the necessity of having the Morrinsville-Maungatapu road repaired. A letter was received from Messrs M. 0' Donogbuo, T. Taylor, 0. Thaxter, and N. Mikklesen re Mr Hanmer making drains so as to let the water into Johnson's creek drain unless he assists to make said drain large enough to carry off the water he lets into it without flooding their land. A letter was received from M r Thos. Roweon the same subject. Mr Mikklesen was also in attendance to give any information re the matter. The Board considered it had no power to in any way interfere with drainage works except for road purposes. Tkndkks.— The following tenders were received for the contract on the Tauhae road ;—Pickett and Son, £20 10a ; Jas. Shine, £19108; D. McCabe, £1!) (accepted.) This was all the business.
