The Waikato Times Office, Friday. WAIKATO LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs J. McNicol and Co. Report.— At Cambridge, on Saturday last, few cattle were yarded. Small fat heifers, £2 (is ; springers, £2 10s to £3 2s Gd. Hardly any horses ottered and three (* four sold at low prices. At Grierson's clearing sale on Wednesday, there was a largo attendance of buyers, and good prices were realised for everything, except the horse stock, which sold for low value?. Furniture and implements sold well. Breeding ewes made lbs and 17s for lincolns; and 9s for crossbred* ; lambs. 10s 9d to 13s; ram lambs, 13s; stock Lincoln ram, bred by Jas. Wallace, Hillside, £115s ; dairy sows, £110s to U; calves, 14s ; grown steers, £3 10a; hacks at up to £4 sb; draughts, from £3 10s to £f> 17s (3d. At Hamilton on Thurday a full muster of cattle and sheep. Cattle were at Ohaupo prices fully, sheep also; lambs, lis 3d for really choice quality; Merino ewes, os Gd; fair lambs passed at 0s Od, 7s dd being wanted. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARIvKTS. Messrs A. Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket during the past week fodder has remained at late values, ranging from 2s Gd to 3s 3d the cwt • maize, 3s to 3s od ; oats, 2s id to 2s 2d •' wheat, 2s lid ; barley, 2s lid ; ryeera'ss, 5s Gd ; cocksfoot, Gs Gd the bushel; chaff, £3 5s ; potatoes, £2 12s per ton. At tho horse sale, on I riday, bidding wa3 dull, and many remained unsold, but those sold kept their late values. Well-bred unbroken Tiding horses brought from £14 to £10 ; good spring-cart horses £10 to £14; useful horses of all classes, £5 to each. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, picked ox hides brought up to 4(jd ; good ordinary ox, 3id to 4d; light ox, 2d to 2.W ; cow hides, l.'id to 2jd : calfskins, od to 4id the lb. ; tallow, 17s the cwt.; loose fat, l:|d the lb. Wool sold better than of late, and brought from G.|d to 7Vd the lb.; pelts, Is Id to 4s lOd ; lambskins, 2s lid to 2s od each. At tho regular country cattle sales, held respectively at Fulcekohe and Papakura, stocks were in less numbers than usual. 1' or useful dairy cows, near calving, there was a good inquiry. All other classes wero at late values. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle, yarded in full numbers, were dull of sale; those of choice quality and at their profit, wero the only ones competed for I'riccs ranged from £2 to £l> each. Store caltle advertised were not forwarded. Fat cattle in full numbers were, at beginning of sale, higher than last week, but fell as the sale proceeded. Prices ranged from 15s to 17s the 1001b. Fat sheep, in average supply, were steady at last week's values. Lambs, in limited numbers, also kept their price. J l iit calves sold well, and a full market of fat pigs met with a satisfactory sale, but ill-conditioned store pigs were low in prico. Averages of steers ranged from £5 lis to £7 4s; ewes ranged from 9s bd to 13s ; wethers, 13s to 17s ; lambs_ in thejr wool, 20s to 13s each ; porkers, 153 to 2os each; heavy pigs, from 40s to 68s, and weaners from 4s to 19s each.

Mkssbs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Report.—Grain, horsefeed, seeds, etc. : There has been an improved demand, and the quantities brought forward have been adequate. We quote : Oats 2s to 2s 2d per bushel; maize, 2s lOd to 3s por bushel: bran, £4 per ton ; oaten chaff, i-! 10s to id Der ton. Horses: A steady demand has existed at late values, and there remained an unsatisfied enquiry for those of a good stamp in the hack and light harness class. There was an average muster at the Durham yards on Friday for sale by auction and most of the lots were cleared. We quote : Hacks at from £4 10s to £11 10s ; light harness and medium draught, from £o 10s to £IG. Wool, hides, skins. No wool ■was disposed of at the Durham Yards on Tuesday. Heavy ox hides were in brisk demand at from to ujd ; light and cow, lid to 2d; damaged, Ad to ifd pel lb; calf skins, 3d to 4kl per lb. Good sheep in brisk demand, at from 2s lid to Is Od each; lamb skins, from 3« Id to 3s (id ; pelts, Is tjd to Is 101. Catlie : Moderate quantities have been brought forward, and found purchasers at fully the previous week s values. There was an average uumber yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday. Dairy cows were fairly represented and well competed ioi, but fewstores were disposed of, and scarcely the usual number of fat beasts met steady competition at fully the previous weeks values, prices ranging for steers, 14s to 1/s fid per 1001b; cows, 12s to lis; some averages of steers were, £7 12s bd,_£7 I'd, £0 IDs 2d, £0 Is Od, £« 2s !)d, £o 10s .Id; cows. £4 ir.s, £4 12s Gd, £4 10s, £4 2s Gd, £3 17s (id, £3 10-". Pigs :In moderate supply and good demand at from 2d to od per lb live weight.
