The Waikato Ti-nst Oilkt, Wednesday. MARKET HE PORTS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report us under : — Ohiustchuiich, April IS.—Wheat. —The cablegrams during the week report a Hrmf.r tiiuo in the Home markets, and an improvement of Gd per quarter in the price. Locally tht) market is without material change, and values remain at tho level of former quotations, at which prices a considerable volume of business has transpired since last writing. We quote Huntsr's White 2s 8d to 2s BW, Pearl 2s 9d to 2* 9-id, Tuscan 2s 10d to 2s lid per bushel, sacks extra, f.o.b. Oats.— Values are without quotable change, (i rowers still evince more desire to hold, or whip on thoir own account to the London market than to accept ruling rates, which are—for milling Is 7d to Is Bd, stout feed Ik Gd, ordinary Is 4d to Is sd, ex store, sacks extra.—Dairy produce.—Business quiet, and values without alteration. Butter, lid to GJ,d; choose, to 4d perlb. "Dukkdin, April 17.—Grain.—Wheat : Thure is no fresh feature of interest to record, operations of the past week being Koinewhat on the basis of those of the previous week. A moderately good demand exists for best samples, well-grown and hard, for both milling and export at late current rates ; hut medium has less attention, and difficult to place except as fowls' wheat pricea. The latter quality is now petting short, especially full round wheat, and is improving in demand, also slightly hardening in price. It is quite evident that the quantity of this cereal to be dealt with this season from the South will be a long way short. Deliveries up to last Saturday only amounted to 0,129 sacks, as against 19,037 sacks at the same date last year. We repeat last week's quotations, viz., for best milling Tuscan, 3s Id to 3s 2d ; best do velvet, 2s 10d to 3s ; medium, 2s Cd to 2a 9d ; inferior to medium, Is 9d to 2s 5d (ex store).—Oats : These are coming to hand freely, and a considerable quantity going into store, owing to prices offered, excopt in a few instances, not being in accord with sellers' ideas of value. Prices obtained at auction this week ranged from Is 4d to Is 5.M for medium feed to prime milling. We "quote prime milling Is 5d to 1* 5-Jd, short bright feed Is 4|d to la sd, medium la 4d to Is ; extra prime lots of long Tartars and very bright pedigree, suitable for seed would bring lAd to 2d more (ex store, sacks extra).—Potatoes : The market for thesa is somewhat flat. Quotations—for be.st, (j"w to 72s Gd ; medium, Site to GOs ; kidneys, 30s to 45s per ton.— Dairy produce : Prime salt butter is in better demand at from 7d to 8d per lb ; whilst medium had no attention whatever. Loaf cheese is saleable in small lots at to 4i'd per lb ; but large and medium are uegiected. • LONDON MARKETS. London, April 28.—Wheat is a shilling duarer.
