TRIAL OF NEW FLAX-DRESSING MACHINERY.

0 (BY. TELEGIUPH.— PJRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Last Night. At Bulls a practical test was held yesterday of the Bulls flax-cleaning machine in

the presence of several hemp millers and Mr T. Gale. Two or three tons of green leaf were put through during the day, only the mechanical portions of invention being tried, and the general opinion expressed was that the character of the work done considering the newness of the machine and the difficulty of adopting the pulleys on the main shaft to its required number of revolutions was fairly satisfactory. So far, however, the work is not quite equal to that of the best machine now on the market, but the manager will submit the whole process to an exhaustive tes-t during the week and report.
