READ, MARK, LEARN, INWARDLY DIGEST THE FINEST BAKING POWDER IN THE WORLD IS ' THE ' BAKING POWDER MANUFACTURED from the PUREST and MOST WHOLESOME IN GREDIENTS. It is one of the most important discoveries ever made by mankind, because it conduces so much to the health of families. PUDDINGS WITHOUT YEAST. BREAD WITHOUT YEAST. PASTRY WITH LESS BUTTEE. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. TO MAKE BBEAD.—To every pound' of flour add a large teaspoonful of the Baking Powder, the usual quantity of salt with each pound of flour, in a dry state; then pour on about half-a-pint of cold water or milk, mix quickly into a dough of the same consistence as when using yeast, taking care not to knead it more than necessary. It is most important that the oven should be sufficiently hot, PASTRY, PIE CRUSTS, &c.—Mix about half-a-teaspoonful of the Powder with a pound of flour, then work in about half the usual quantity of butter, dripping, or lard. PLUM, SUET, and OTHER PUDDINGS should never be made without it. A teaspoonful to a pound of flour makes them both light and digestible, and effects a great saving in eggs and butter. NORFOLK DUMPLINGS.—Prepare as for Bread, put into boiling water immediately and boil twenty minutes without taking the lid off. SCONES Use same quantities as for Bread, using sweet milk or water.
