The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs A. Bucki.axd and Sons report that at their Waiuku sale on Saturday last, there was a small muster of cattle, and scarcely the usual attendance ; prices ruled low. At Remuera on Thursday, consequent on the heavy weather, stock of all kinds,were in short supply; with dairy and store cattle there was no change in values, but fat stock advanced in price considerably. Fat steers reached 20a and cows lGs the 1001b, and fo t ' sheep 3Ad was the ruling price. Calves and pigs remained at late values, but lambs shared in the advance obtained for sheep. We quote : Oats, 2s 3d to 2s Gd ber bushel ; bran, £4 10s ; chaff, £3 los per ton ; cocksfoot grass, 7s Gd ; rye, 7s 6d per bushel. Horses : In consequence of the holidays there was no sale by auction, and very few were disposed of privately, but there has existed a demand for all sorts of a Rood stamp at fully late quotations. Wool, hides, and skins: The auction sales were also postponed, and there exists a strong demand for really heavy hides, and skins are also much wanted. Cattle: The supply kas been small, but the demand brisk for dairy and store stock at late quotations, and an advance has been given ior fat beasts. The auction sale at Newmarket was held on Wednesday, and notwithstanding the inclement state of the weather, there was a moderate muster, which met spirited competition throughout the sales, and fat stock advanced from 10s to £1 per head, ranging from 15s to 20s per 1001b, but no heavy weights were yarded. Some averages of steers were: £7 10s, £7 7s (id, SX> IBs, £6, £5 7s Gd, £5 2s Gd; cows, £410s, £4 2s ss, £3. Sheep were short of requirements at Newmarket on Wednesday, and were eagerly competed for. Wethers, at from 15s to 17s 9d; ewes, 7s !)d to 15s. figs in moderate numbers; prices were in iavour of the vendor, ranging from to 3d per lb. live weight. Messrs Stone Bros.' Report—Southern feed oats, 2s 2d ; black, 2s Id ; Danish, 2s ; local, 2s ; fowl wheat, 2s lid ; feed barley, 2s !)d ; maize, 3s 8d ; crushed, 3s 8d; chaff, best oaten 80s, bright straw (good) 60s; straw 50s. Flour : Bycroft's first quality, £10; superfine, £9 10s; Golden Gem £10; Diamond Dust, £910s. Oatmeal, £10; bran; £4 sharps, £4; Southern hams and bacon, ; local da., 7Ad. Tea: Boxes, 15s ; half-chests, Is Gd per lb; half-chest Indian, 2s per lb. Bonedust: Auckland Tallow Co.'s £7 10s ; Runcorn (to arrive), £7 10s; Sydney JI, £6 10s; S. and G. Pure, £7; "Farmers' Friend," £6. Hobart palings, 15s per 100; Manilla rope, 8d and 9d ; Europe rope, 7d ; New_ Zealand flax rope, fid ; cornsacks, 44 by 7s per dozen ; Bycroft's biscuits, to 7d ; cur rants, sd; pohutukawa felloes (all sizes), lOd ; ironb.uk, 12s ; kerosene (Light of the Age brand), Is lOd ; colza oil, 3s Gd ; salt, Black Horse brand, fine, £5 5s ; coarse £4 17s Gd ; clotbes lines, Nos. 1, 2, 3, from 3s (id to 8s Gd ; blue gum (assorted sizes), in stock and to arrive, 20s per 100 ft.; blue gum shafts (10ft), 10s pur pair.
