The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report as under:— Dl/NKOIN, ■ March 27.— Grain.—Wheat: The quantity to hand so far of tho new crop is limited, and all offered up to the present, when in prime condition, has not jailed to find purchasers. Second-class old >heat, if in milling condition, has also been in better dsmand duriner tho week, and saleable at slightly advanced rates; and fowl wheat, if whole and not musty, could be placed without difficulty in large parcels. We quote priuie.milhng Tuscan, 3s Id to 3a 2d ; best velvet, 2s lid to 3s Id; medium, 2s (id to 2slod ; inferior to medium, Iβ 9d to 2s 5d (ex store).—Oats: A fair demand is experienced for these, both for local conaumption and shipment, and while deliveries continue on so modulate a scale last week's pricee are likely to be maintained. The damage by floods in Naw South Wales and Queensland has caused considerable activity in both the oat and maize market. The latter advanced in Sydney from 3s 4d to 5s 3d, while the former were quoted at 2s 3d, and it was anticipated that better prices would rale for some time to come. We quote prime milling at Iβ 6d to Is 7d; bright pedigree, Is 7id; best short stout feed, Is 5d .to Is 6d: medium to good, Is 4d to Is *d ; inferior and musty, Isi Id to Is 3d (ex store, sacks extra).—Barley: Theie is no demand for shipment;, and the local maltsters, having picked up sufficient in the meantime to carry on with, are not buying unless the quality is extra piime and at a price to suit. There has been some slight inquiry for milling; but the quantity required for this purpose is insignificant. Wβ quote prime maltine, 3s to 3s 3d; medium (nominal), 2s Gd to 2s 9d ; inferior, Is Gd to Is 9d (ex store, sacks extra). Potatoes.—Deliveries during the past week have been rather in excess of requirements; and, while there is a market for all forward, lower prices have to be accepted. There is very little demand now for kidneys; Derwents have the preference. At auction, on Tuesday, the latter brought 62a Gd, and the former 303 to 45s per ton. Dairy produce: There is no change to advise iu the position of the market, the quantity offering of both cheese and butter being in excess of requirements. Considerable quantities, however, are going forward to the Home market, also to Australia, which are expected to "jive satisfactory results.
