Lodge Te Awamutu
At the Masonic Lodge Tβ Awamutu, the ceremony of installing Brother Gresham as Master of the Lodge took .place on Easter Monday. The visiting brethern included Bro. B. J. Esain, P.M. of Lodge Remuera who acted most efficiently as Installing Master, Brother James Christie, formerly secretary of the Lodge, and now resident at the Thames, while Lodge Alexandra was worthily represented. After installation the W.M. appointed and invested his officers as follows: Brother I.P.M. the Rev. R. G. Boler who is also chaplain and secretary, Brother P.M. Geo. Ahier Treasurer, Brother C. L. Long S.W., Brother John Hufcchinson J.W., and Brother John Lee I.D. The S.D. and I.G. were un avoidably absent, and their investiture waa deferred. Letters of congratulation to the W.M., and of apology tor absence were received from the following Brethern: Brother Lodder the Deputy District Grand Master, also the District Grand Secretary Brother J. P. Clark, whose duties required him to officiate on the Bth instant at Lodge Corinthian, Thames, Brother H. F. Windsor I.P.M. Lodge Prince of Wales, Brother John Comb P.M. Lodge Remuera, Brothers G. Edgecumbe, T. Kirk, and W. A. Graham of Lodge Beta, Hamilton, Brother G. T. Wilkinson P.M. Lodge Alexandra. Several Brethern from Lodge Alpha, Cambridge *ere unable to be present in consequence of an entertainment at Cambridge. After the ceremonies of the installation were completed, all the brethern present, upon the invitation of the W.M. Brother Gresham, partook of a very choice supper which waa tastily laid out at tho parsonage. Many excellent songs were contributed by Brothers Esixtn, Boler Geo. Ahier, Gresham, Long, Hutchinson, Christie, Sinden, Finch, Garmonsway, Lee, and others, and mirth and harmony were the order of the day till a somewhat late hour. A proposal was made by the newly installed W.M. that the two sister Lodges of Alexandra and Te Awamutu should mutually visit on their respective nights of meetin" , and so tend to strengthen both Lodges. This suggestion was accepted with favour and will we hope prove to their mutual advantage. The first visit will be paid by Lodge Te Awamutu to Lodge Alexandra at their next meeting.
