Aitkkn's Mauket Rkpobt for the week ending March 29tb.—During the week prwdueo of all kinds has been in goodi demand, and more tlr.tn the usual quantities have been quitted. Prime samples of potatoes have been short ot requirements, and upwards of 70 tons have been quitted at an advance on late quotations. With second-class the market is at present overstocked, with mi demand. Onions have come to hand in large quantities, and the tendency is downward. I have sold at i'd to Id for prime lots ; others, ; picklers, j'd to l\il. Wheat supplies all cleared at 3s to 3s 3d ; oate, 2s to 2s 3d : bran, 4.s to 4s Gd ; maize, none; sharps, £'5; cow potatoes, 30s to 35a; pumpkins, Is 0d to 4s 3d por cwt; cabbages, inferior, Is Gd to 2s 0d per : sack ; peas, lOd to 2s per peck ; mangolds, 30s per ton ; turnips, none; carrots, (id per dozen; beet, 7s pnr cwt; garlic, 3jd. Bacon and hams : Only southern on hand. Owing to- the high price being required, there in but little demand at 3d to IO.Jd. Cheese: Farmers' plentiful at 3d to 4d; factory scarce at 4d to Butter: JVeeh of prime quality scarce at 10d to 10.} d, other kinds Gd to Bd. A large quantity of prime keg butter could have been quitted, but little to hand at Gd to 8d ; medium and pastry is slow at 3d to 4d. Ettee have been more plentiful at Is 8d to 2s 3d dozen ; pickled, Is to Is 3d. In the poultry department the supply has been rery large, upwards of 2000 bead being ponned, and notwithstanding the large quantity, satisfactory prices were obtained. Poor, old, and small fowls realised Is to Is 2d ; good ordinary. Is 4d to Is 0d ; heavy table fowls, Is 7d to 2s ; roosters, young in condition, Is 7d to 2s 2d ; others, Is 2d to Is Gd ; ducks. Is 0d to 25,; geese, 2s 4d to 3s !)d ; turkeys, hens, 2s 8d to 3s Gd, gobblers, 4q to Gs Gd. Pigs were entered in fair numbers, and prices ruled from 4a Gd to 10s, according to sire and brewing. In the fruit department the supyly was very large. First-class cooking apples have realised from £ti to l£d, inferior choice dessert variety to 2Jd, ordinary j'd to ljd; pears, various dessert kinds, 2d to 4.td, cooking kinds l£d to2.Jd ; quinces, Jd tol&d ; damsons, 2id to 3d ; passion fruit, l.Jd to 2Jd per dozen ; figs, 2d to 3d; lemons, 5d to Is 2d ; rockmelons, 2a 8d to 4s per dozen; watermelons, 5s to 5s Gd ; Cape gooseberries, Id ; tomatoes, lAd to 2£d ; peaches, Is to 2* Gd per dozen and 3d to l£d per lb; grapes, none; walnuts, !»d per lb; filberts, 10d. Friday's sale lasted eight hours, and was largely attended to the last. Owing to next Friday being Good Friday the usual weekly sale will be held-in Thursday.

LONDON MARKETS. London, March 28.—Wheat: Market depressed. The weather is favourable for the crop here.—Frozen meat: New Zealand mutton stocks are increasing. There i* a fair demand. Canterbury mutton is worth 4|d per lb., and Wellington per lb. Beef market firmer. New Zealand beef: Forequarteije are worth 4d and hindquarters 4sd.—New Zealand hemp has fallen £2 per ton since last report. London, March 30.—Three months' bills are quoted at,2§ per cent., there being a more adequate'supply of money from outside markets. Tallow : Medium mutton, 2te 3d ; beef, 23*. The English wheat market is inactive, the Continental declining, and the American changing a little for the worse.
