The iVaikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. MK3SKB A. Bucki,and andSonb Weekly ReI'OHT.—At the Haymarket during the past week oaten chatf has sold for £2 15s and £3 the ton ; oaten sheaves, Is 9d to 2s 3d ; meadow hay, 2d 2d the cwt; oats, Is 8d to is lid ; maize, 2s lOd the bushel. At the horse sale on Friday the unbroken mudiurn draught stock brought from £6 to £910s; heavy draught, £9 to £14 lOs a piece; a buggy £16; good active draught, biokcn to harness, £10 10s to £13; and aged, useful horses of all classes, from £3 10j to £8 each. At the hide and skin sale, held <m Tuesday, hides, in limited number, were generally at lower values : A few of prime quality, brought from 4d to 5d the lb, but generally prices were from ljd to 2Ad ; calfskins, 4d to 4Ad the lb; fat, tiielb ; tallow, 17s 6d the cwt; pelts, from Is to 2s 6d ; lambskins, Is 9d to 3s 5d each ; lambswool, 7id to, ; merinos, BJd the lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were in limited number. Best animals brought £4 10s and £5 each. No store cattle offered. Fat cattle, in average number, were' Steady at last week's quotations : Ship-borne cattle, 14s; Auckland steers, 15s; cows, lis the 1001b. Fat sheep also in usual supply, were firm at a slight advantage over last week's values: Wethers ranged from lis to 12s : ewes, Ss to lis each. Fat lambs, in short supply, sold freely. Shorn lambs, 8s 6d ; in their wool, 13s. Fat calves were also better worth, and young pigs in good enquiry. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Report.—Grain, seed, horso feed, &c. : Sufficient quantities for requirements have been brought forward, and the demand has been moderate at quotations : Feed oats, Is 9d to 2s 3d per bushel ; maize, 3s; bran, £4 per ton. Horses : There has been increased activity in the market, and prices for those of a good stamp had an upward tendency. There was a good muster for sale by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday. Bidding was brisk, and almost without exception lots were cleared, and there remained a strong demand for medium draughts and light harness horses, We quote : Hacks, from £5 to £9 10s ; light harness horses, from £5 10s to £10 10s; medium draught, £7 10s to £15. Wool, hides, skins, &c. : Stout ox hides were in unsatisfied demand at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, but it was slack for light ox and cow hides. We quota : Heavy ox, 4d 4d to 4j!d per lb ; light and medium, from 2d to 3d per lb; cow, ljd to 2d per lb ; calf skins. to 4id per lb ; sheepskins, in bri-k demand, at from 2s to 2s 3d ; lambskins, 2s to 2s 9d ; pelts, lOd to Is 8d ; crossbred wool, 7,|d to 7id. : There has been increased activity in the market, b,,th as regards supply and demand, and the previous week's values were maintained. There was a good muster at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday of dairy and fat stock, and stores were well represented on Wednesday at Pukekohe. Prices for all descriptions were sustained. Some averages of fat steers were : £7 10s, £7 2s 6d, £6 16s, £5 lfis, £5 14s, £5 7s 6d. £4 17s (id ; cows, £5, £4 ss, £3 2s 6d, £2155, £2 12s 6d. Sheep : Barely the usual numtiors wore penned on Tuesday. The demand was brisk, and there was an upward tendoncv in value. Wethers sold at 13s to 14s ; ewes, Ss 9d to 12s 9d ; lambs. 7s 9d to 12s 3d. Pigs : No largo or medium were yarded, bvt a good many small ones were disposed of at from 6s 3d to 17s each. Messrs Stone Bros.'
