Produce ot most kinds lias been quitted in hirgo quantities. Potatoes continue plentiful; very prime lots are somewhat firmer, at t'3 to £3 si; poor and damaged lots have been wold for cow feed at 25s to 40s per ton. Onions in the early part of tho week were far short of requirements at ; : |d to Id ; picklev:s, id to IVI. Wheat, dull at 8s ; bran and sharps,' £4 10s ; outs, Is 9d to 2s. Maize is scarce, none to hand; crushed maize finds very slow sale at 3s. Pumpkins, large supply, at 3s 9d to 4s 9d ; piemulling, 2s ; water-melons, 4s Gd to 5s per dozen ; cabbages, small supply, at from Is 5d to 4s 9d per sack ; carrots, 2s fid to 3s' per cwt, and 5d to 8d per dozen ; Uumeras, 4s to 4s 9d per cwt. Bacon and hums : but little received ; all sold at Cd to 7d for bacon and 8d to Sjjd for ham-. Cheese is scarcer ; fair demand at 3Ad to 4d ; inferior. Id to 2d. Honey: One ton of Birrier make, in bulk, has been quitted at ; Waikato clover in 101b tins is in demand at S.'.d to 4d ; section. 3d. Fresh butter has been in bettersupply: primo quality realised fid to OJd ; medium, 7d to 8d; inferior, 2d to 4|d; keg butter, that of extra prime quality, spring made, is in fair demand at od to (id ; of this kind ano ton was sold. There is no demand for medium grades. There has been a large quantity of fruit received. In apples there has been more than tho usual quantity of poor lot-.. This is due tu the present dry weather causing the fruit to fall from the trees. Thoso' sorts were difficult to work off tit from A per lb to Is and 2s pec case :—Fairly Hood "cooking sorts §d to :(d; choice lots, Id to l\A ; ordinary dessert sorts, Id to J?.d; very choieo lots, IJJ to L'i'd. Pears were in short supply : Bon Chretien, 2Ad to 4.} d; Louis Bonne, 2i'd to 3Ad ; other dessert kiuds, 2 1 , dto3d ; cooking kinds lAd to 2d. Plums, %A to sjd ; lemons, ordinary, 8d to la 3d ; extra large, Is 8d to 2s ; passion fruit, 2d to per dozen ; poaches, Is OJd per dozen ; quinces, lAd to 2d ; tomatoes, l:/d to 2d ; grapes, hothouse, Gd to 7id ; outdoor, dark kinds, 2§d to 3Ad; white, 1-Jri to ; Cape gooseberries, poor 3£d to sd; damsons, 2.|d to 3d ; bnllacas, 2d to 2,jd ; Island oranges, 8d to Is per dozen ; bananas, A/l to Id. There was a very large supply of poultry. Prices ruled lower: Poor and old fowls, Is to Is 3d; good ordinary, Is 4d to Is 9d ; roosters in condition, Is Sd to 2s 3J each ; ducks, Is 2d to Is 4d ; geese, 3s to 3s 9d ; turkeys, small, 3s to ss. Pigs were entered in large numbers : Bast lots, 7s to lis Gd ; others, 2s Gd to tis. Owing to the scarcity of mill;, the demand is not so good as has been previously.
