... A COMPLICATION". (BY TF.LEOKAI'II. —OWN" CORRRSrOXDENT.) Auckland List Night. An i uiilooked-fcir jdifficiilty in connection with the prodlatnation of Puhipuiij as a mining district, has arisen. The areas gazetted last evening at Wellington as mining districts are stated to comprise the whole of the two counties of Whanp,arei and Bay of Islands, and in thi* large district there are considerable tracts of waste lands which were about to be disposed of. Tho result of the Gazette's notice is that the Auckland VVuste Lands Commissioner has had to withdraw the whole of the lands that were opeu for settlement, even including some iands whica were advertised for sale. Therefore, hefore anything can be done in the way of settling lands in these t'.vo counties, the lands will have to be withdrawn Ivy an Ordnr iii-Council, then 15 diiys ho',ics has to be given of the blocks open for selection or sale. Some 200 case* of applications for sale are pending settlement to-morrow. Mr Cl.indon, R. M., leaves for Whangarei by the Wellington and will issue miners' rights- to intending prospectors.- ! ' ' •
