Brisbane, 15!h Fehruary, 1890.—During She pa.~t tcimth the colony generally— 'napecially the coastal district —J)ns been visited by very heavy rains, culminating i'> several instances in disastrous fl.iids and serious loss of property. Th« produce markets have undergone but little alteration worth noting, and the st.Ue of trade has'not,, as yet, exhibited any marked improvement. We quote prices currant, ex wharf or store, as follows :—Wheat (free.) Nd imported in the market at the moment. About 3s (3d could probably be obtained for a small Kne of prime Tuscan for milling purposes.—Oats (duty, 8d per bushel.) A email shipment of fnir ff.e-l arrived this week per " Kate Tntliani,' , and realised 2s lljd to'Se Oid. The market i< only lipbtly stacked ut pieeeiit, but the demand is meiely trifling. Seed timo will be on shortly, and considerable quantities of prime long Tirtaiiana will lik<-ly he required.—Butter (duty, 31 p«rlb.) Market is kept well supplied (locally) meantime and up to Is 3d is obfcunedtor exceptionally prime samules.—Cht»eun (duty, 3d per Id.) Supplies from New Zealand have been coming forward freely, and we hear of several larae shipments now in course of transit. Prices, however, are at present steady at 7Jd to BJd, f'>r medium size, and B|<l to BJ<i for loaf. New S >utli Wales and Victorian productions are otfwiug at low prices, which tend to check any advance in the New Zealand article, although the quality or the latter i* generally pref-rred here. Much 1 1>8, which could be-.ivoi led, is often occasioned by the imperfect and slight packages employed by some of the New Zealand factories.

KocKHAMPTON, F'-bruary 13.—Our last report wan dated the 14th nit., since which business in the produce market has been characterised by extreme dullness, all fodder, bfing in heavy supply with but a limited enquiry. Oats (duty Si I per hu-hel) are also easier with but little demand, and 3a 9d may be given as full value fnr bright, heavy feed. Potatoes (duty 15s per too) : Large quantities of potatoes lihvp come forward, but the bulk have bean in very inditferpnt condition, and have bunn sold at pi ices hardly coveting freight and duty joriiny lots that have arrived, in good condition £8 has bejn readily obtained. Cheese (duty 3d per Ib.) is in fully supply, with a steady enquiry tor Al loaf sizes at 0d ; othor i-izRS are not suitable for this market. Butter (duty 3d per |h.) : The supply of local fresh is still ample for all requirements, and is quoted at Is per Ib.

Sydney, February 13'-h.—Wlient (free): We have little to add tn our remarks when writing last tin the 29th ultimo, the market continuing in much the name condition. Prime samples of New South iVales wheat eiuiinand if anything slightly better fisrnrps, and we quote h;hii* to-day jit up to 3s i per .bushel.— OjiU (free): The oat iti.trket continues dull, and tlmngh 2< 2.1 is nominally the quotation f>ir ■ liust nanuses of fuel] and milling nut:, **"i t liti-lo lui-'iness is pi->sit)£, and to the effort *:ilps "f anything like line-! lower values have ti> he accepted. Mki.BOUBNR, Pehnvirv 12.— Grain: There has been an active demand for wheutduring the past week, both »n export and local millers' account. The former includes an inquiry, for .'several parcels as ballast for vessßlM who will uompli tu their cargoes in South Australia, and under th&te conditions brtter |iric«-i have I'een obtained. Tlie Anl.i?on« liae aecureil 2000 bags at 3a 7-J't f.0.b.. and other is boms done at the same money. Accounts from the country state thai, local dealers and milliMU are securing a large proportion of the prime wheat (ittfiiiiK in expectation of better lit ices later on.
