Meeting of Creditors.— The first general meeting of the creditors of Thomas Cassidy, of Hamilton, butcher, a bankrupt, was held at the office of John S. Edgecumbe, Victoria-street, Hamilton, yesterday, the 20th day of February, 181)0, at 11.30 a.m. The following creditors were present in person or by proxy :—Messrs C. Hinton, John Cassidy, Isaac Coates, A, Furze, Jno. Murphy, C. J. W. Barton, J. Stead mau, A. Primrose, A. Scott, J. Barugh, W. Chitty, T. Slade, A. Cassidy, G Pearson, M. Mulcahy, Augustine Cassidy, W. Dey, Misses E. and S. Cassidy. The bankrupt was present, and his solicitor, Mr L. O'Neill, Mr Isaac Coates was appointed chairman of. the meeting, and read the advertisement convening the meeting and the bankrupt's statements of assets and liabilities.—Mr Primidone stated that, Mr Cassidy appeared to have used all reasonable endeavours to avoid becoming bankrupt, but that under the circumstances detailed at this meeting there was no other c»ur3e open to him, and moved " That this meeting of creditors, at which nearly every creditor is present or represented, expresses its sympathy with Mr Caesidy, and requests the Official Assignee to facilitate his dis-
