(by telegraph.—own correspondent). Auckland, List Night. At the Supreme Court to-day at the sitting in bankruptcy di.-charges were sranted in the ojsbs of E. ami A. Isaacs, Ji.hn Buchanan, and W. H. d.nnell. The following candidates have been nominated for vacancies in the Board of Education : Messrs Then. Cooper, Moat, and Udy. Thuse buing only the number required, they will bs elected in March. Ueneral Halliday, Mr Malfroy, C.E., and Mr Sturrock, a well-known resident of Melbourne, wore passengers to-day by train for the Hot Lakes. Mr Rhodes, M.H.R. for Gladstone, who is now in Auckland, has, at. the request of the Government, consented tn hold an inquiry and take evidence at the Thames to define boundaries of the Harbour Board there. Mr Rhodes proefleds t> the Thames on Monday and commences the inquiry on the following day. About ten o'clock this morning, the gunboat. Lizard, steamed out of port on a day's cruise in the Hauraki Gulf, she had on board His Excellency Lord Ons'ow, Admiral Lord Seotfc and Btatf. Tha Governor is so impressed with the facilities for yachting on VVaitemata and the attractions of Hauraki Gulf.as, a cruising ground that he in now negotiating for the hire of one of our firstclass yachts.
