READ, MARK, LEARN, INWARDLY DIGEST THE FINEST BAKING POWDER IN THE WORLD IS ' THE ' BAKING POWDER MANUFACTURED from the PUREST and MOST WHOLESOME IN GREDIENTS. It is one of the most important discoveries ever made by mankind, because it conduces -so lr.uch to tho health of families. PUDDINGS WITHOUT YEAST. BREAD WITHOUT YEAST. PASTEY WITH LESS BUTTER. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. TO MAKE BREAD.—To every pound of flour add a large t.easpoonful of the Bakini? Powder, the usual quantity of salt with each pound of flour, in a dry state ; then pour on about half-a-pint of cold water or milk, mix quickly into a dough of the same consistence as wlien iising yeast, taking care not to knead it more than necessary It is most important that the oven should he sufficiently hot. PASTEY PIE CEUSTS, &c—Mix about half-a-teaspoonful of the Powder with a pound of flour then work in about half the usual quantity of buttor, dripping, or lard. PLUM, SUET, and OTHER PUDDINGS should never be made without it. A teaspoonful to a pound of flour makes them both light and digestible, and effects a great saving in eggs and butter. NORFOLK DUMPLINGS.—Prepare as for Bread, put into boiling water immediately and boil twenty minutes without taking , the lid off. SCONES —Use same quantities as for Bread, using sweot milk or water. " I have sampled the Baking Powder iu the bulk, prepared by Mr John Buchanan, Merchant, Auckland, and have analysed the same and find the constituents pure and well-proportioned. " This result of my examination proves this article to be superior to any either imported or colonidlly prepared that has been submitted to me, and I can, therefore, confidently recommend it to the public." _, . . , , , (Signed) J.
