BUSH FIRES.

[ISY TELEGRAPH.—PRUSij ASSOCIATION.] Nkw Plymouth, Last Night. At New Plymouth a south-east gale has been blowing since Thursday, and a large quantity of bush is being burnt, the fires have spread in all directions, the whole district is filled with smoke, and although there has been a good deal of damage, and fencen, outhouses, cocksfoot grass destroyed no houses have been burnt. Inglewood is reported to be surrounod by fire, and the inhabitants were up all night protecting their property. The gale has subsided a little to-day, but fear is expressed that it will spring up again towards evening.
