WESTERN AUSTRALIA

A FAVOURABLE INTERVIEW. (nv ELKCTRIC TKLEGKAPH.—COPYRIGHT.) London, January 30. The delegates from Western Australia have had a favourable interview with Lord Knutsford, at which ex-Governor-General, John Bram ston, C.8., and Sir Geo. Herbert were present. Lord Knutsford promised that the Bill of last session will be introduced directly Parliament meets, and said he hoped that the debate on the motion for the second reading would be brief, as the question had already been fully discussed by the Committee of Management of Goldfields, to whom the Constitutional question had been referred, last session with a view to preventing any inconvenience which might arise from the decision to the colony for land legislature purposes. The delegates left Lord Knutsford feeling he was favourable to granting Constitution to Western Australia.
