The Waikato Time* Office, Monday. AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS. Mr Alex. Aithen's Markkt Rkpoht for the week onding January 18th.—Supplies of all kinds ot produce have been larger. The aueLion sales have been well attended, and largo quantities have been put through. Potatoes hiive met with somewhat better demand, but the supply hac been in excess of requirements. Shepherd's 30s to 40e per t >n ; gout! kidneys, £2 10s to £3; Hobarts, £2 10s to £3, nil sacks extra., Onions have come to hand in good quantities, and fair qualities sold at to ljd. Wheat has tnen in better supply and in fair demand at 3s 3d, sacks in ; maize, 3s; bran, sharps, and pigineal, £4 ; flonr, £8 to £10; green peaa more plentiful at from 6d to lid ; beans, 3d to 5d ; cucumbers, Gd to Is 3d dozen ; cabbage, la 8d to 2s sack, Oil to Is dozen ; cauliflowers, 2sto 2s6d j rhubarb, Is Gil to 2s 3d ; oats dull of sale at from 2s t) 2s 4d. In the poultry department the supply has been larger and demand un--8 itisfied. Poor and old fowls realised from l< to Is 3d, good ordinary Is 7d to 2a, roosters young in condition 2s 5d to 3a, H'liall and old Is 4d to 2s, chicks sid to Is; ducks, Is 4d to 2s 3d ; geese, 3s 0d ; turkeys, hens, 2s 0d to 4s 3d ; gobblers, 7s 9d to 8s 31; canaries, Is Gd to 2s Gd ; pigeons, 0d to Is 3d. Pigs carao to hand in fair numbers, and the demand wan good. Good sorts sold at from 8s Gd to 10s 6d, poor bred and small suckers from on 3d to 7s Gd. In dairy produce all kinds in full supply ; cheese plentiful and dull of sale at from 3d to <ld ; fresh butter is also very plentiful at lower values —fair quality, 5d to 6kl, medium 4d, inferior 2d to Eggs have been in. good supply at higher values, the market having been cleared of many bad lots ; prices have ranged from 8-Jd to IOJd. Honey of all kinds very difficult to quitat from to 2jd. Bacon and hams: Very few good lota offering ; primo local, Gd to 7d ; hnms, 8d ; poor and inferior bacon, Id to 4d ; haras, 2d to pd. Keg butter very plentiful; new is in very limited demand, for extra prime only, at from 5d to Gd; medium finds no demand; last season's make moves off very elowly at ljd. In the fruit department there has been a large assorted supply ; for all a strong demand continues at satisfactory prices. Grapes havo been more plentiful at from to 10* d. Plums : Fair supply ; Early Rivers, to Gd ; Green gages, 4#d to ■ G.fd ; other" varieties, 4Jd to Gd. Cape gooseberries, 4id to 7d, Pears have come to hand fn good quantities; Jargonelles, to 3£d ; Windsor, 2d to 2|d ; [Chisel, Id to Tomatoes, 2d tosd. A large quantity of apples were entered, but the demand was unsatisfied for good slean lots; good Irish Peach, Id to ljd ; Red Astrakhan, 2d to 2Jd ; White ditto, jd to ; good large cooking kinds, Id to ]jd . ■mall and mothed apples, fd to |d. Apri-' cots : A few choice local-grown realised 10d per lb. Peaches have been in very short supply, at from 10d to Is 5d per dozen ; small hard, (id. Lemons : Good, 13 3d t«i Is Sd ; small, 10d to Is Id. Blackberries, 7d to 10d per box. Oranges. Is 4d per doz. Desiccated cocoanut. 10d. Cocoanuts, Bs. Garlic, 3d. '
