[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION']. GRISY MOUTH, Last Night. Mr Edwards, Secretary of the New Z'.-alaud Ama'gamated Society of Kailway Servants, has started a branch of the society.here. Mr Edwards in the course of his remarks said the number now enrolled was about 4000.
CHIUSTCHURCH, Last Night. The polluted literature case, the firet of the kind in the colony, came before the Court this morning and was adjourned for a week. There were five defendants. DUNEDIN, L-ist Might. The idea of connecting the rifle range with the telegraph has been finally abandoned after all, owing to the cost. NKLSON, Last Night. At the meetiug ot the Diocesan Standing Committee the election of Archdeacon Julius to the bishopric of Christchurch was sanctioned. A resolution was also passed thanking the Bishop of Nelson for the attitude he had assumed with regard to the Primacy whereby a wrongful election of one (however worthy of filling that high position), had been prevented.
