(bt telegraph.—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night. The Hon. E. Mitchelson on leaving for Wellington to-day expressed to Mr Whiteford his desire that substantial aid should be piven to the mining industry, and stated that tho Minister of Mines and Mr Gordon would probably visit the mines in the Auckland district lit the end of the month. Mr J. C. McCausland died of heart disease this morning, dece.-Ued was a wellknown citizen, and baa been a resident Auckland for years, holding a omnrmeeion as J.P. _ ~ _ ~ On 'Change to-day :—Saxons sold, 5s 4d to 5a 6d : New Moanatairi, (is 2d ; K»yal Oak, 7s 2d; buyers, 7s; Try 1 hike, 4s 6d.
