HAMILTON AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB.

A meeting of the above Clnb was held on Tuesday night at 8 o'clock, in The Waikato Times Building. Present : Messrs W. A. Graham (in the chair), I. Coates, G. H. Carter, J. Parr, C. J. W. Barton, R. J. Gwynne, H. M Hume, 0. G. Knox, Geo. Edgecumbe, F R. Seddon, J. M. Hume, A. Quick, C. Le Qoesne, and R. F. Sandes.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. RuLies.—The rules as submitted by tlu> committee were adopted, with a few alterations. Colours and Costume.—The colours decided upon were Royal Blue, trimmed white vandyke braid, and university costume. Gala.—lt waR resolved thnt the annual gala he held on Saturday, 15th February, on the Hamilton Lake. A programme was drawn up and the following officers eleored : —Starter, Mr J. Miasen ; judgf, Mr Isaac Coates; timekeeper, Mr C. Le Quesne. Stewards: Messrs Stevens, Murr'av. G. Parr, J. S. Edgscumbe and Captain Rmd Lidies committee : Mesdaraes Coates, Salmon, Graham and Hume. Miscellaneous. — It was resolved to write to the Hamilton Borough Council asking for the use of the baths for certain ovening* in the week for practice, the Ohib t> pay a small amount for the privilege.— It was also resolved to offer priz-s for class swimming to be swum for among the members of the Club every three weeks, the winner of one race to be debarred from entering for another such race during the season. Captaincy op Club.—lt was left to the committee to decide upon the length of the course for the captaincy of the Club contest, A good deal of interesting rhscwMtnn took place in connection with the Club and thd forthcoming carnival on the Lake, and a good deal of interest is being Bhown. There is every probability, therefore, of a en.id day's amusmneut bung provided on February 15th.
