HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

An" adjourned meeting of the above Council was held at tho Council Chambers at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. There were present: The Mayor (Mr W. Jones) in the chair, Cr.s. Parr, Wood, Salmon, Sett, Davey and Ball. Pig Pk.vs.—The following report was read from the Chairman of the Works Committee:—ln accordance with the resolution of the Council, I interviewed one ot the auctioneers. Tho following suggestions were offered : That six pens be erected on the north side, immediately at the entrance t>> the yards, Mm size to be four feet by eight, and the flooring to be raised from the ground to (.he height of an ordinary dray, an open roof to be thrown over all to project two feet in front, the watershed to bo on the north shed. It was further suggested that as this accommodation was urgently needed, the work bo undertaken at once.— Thu matter was deferred to next ordinary meeting of the Council, so as to ndmit of an estimate of the cost being obtained. Doc Recistis.au. —Three applications were received for the office of dog registratrar for 1890, at a remuneration of Is per collar, viz, D Lees, K. Dillicar and T. Keep.—Cr. Salmon proposed that D. Lees be appointed, and that his house be a registration office.—Seconded by Cr. Parr and

carried. Dkain.—The Chairman of Works Committee, in his report, recommended lliat the pipes under Kosstrevor-street be left- as at present, but that (lie drain, which has silted up, should be cleaned out during the dry season.—This matter was deferred till the next ordinary meeting of the Council. Eknclnu.— An account of £7 9s 9d was passed for payment for fencing lot -143. Hospital Rkpkksentativk. — Notification was received from lJr. McGregor, of the appointment of Mr E. T. Davey as representative of the Borough of Hamilton on tho Waikato District Hospital Board. This was all the business.
