CAMBRIDGE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Installation of MayorThe annual meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council was held yesterday, at noon. Present: The Mayor (Mr A. Clements), Crs. Hally, Priestly, Wehber, Bond, Gillett and J. R. S. Richardson. Councillor J. H, Priestly having read and signed the declaration, he was duly inducted ag Mayor. In thanking thejf Council and burgesses for having elected him, he stated that he should endeavour to follow the worthy example set by his predecessors, and he trusted that his relations with the Council would be of a cordial nature, and that the prospects of the town would improve. He had been much struck by the courteous manner in which the business had baen conducted, and expressed his thanks to the lato Mayor f'_>r having undertaken to represent the borough on the Hospital Board.—Or. Gillett proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Clements for the manner in which he had conducted the business during the past year, and !rusted he would st-ind for the vacant seat.— Seconded by Or. Hally and earned. —Mr Clements suitably iespor.!'?d.
