RICH FIND AT TARARU.

The following assay of a piece of quartz taken from the Imperial Treasury, Tararu, has been made at the Te Aroha Silver and Gold Mining Company's Office, Waiorongomai, and published : — Certificate of Assay. Waiorongomai, New Zealand, December 7th, 1880. Imperial Treasury. The samples of gold ore deposited by Mr Harris for aisay .1 hereby cortify to contain :— Gold per ton 2578 I I value £1.0,314 10 (> Silver per ton 080 10 10 value 118 1 1 Total value per tnn .£10,402 77 7 Assayed by .Tajiks Napier. These aro the largest returns of gold and silver values per ton ever determined from crude ore in this office. Wm. Adams, Junk., Acting Manager. The stone giving tho foregoing extraordinary rich return, was selected from the best of a parcel of about 181bs., which, together with a second parcel of about Ollbs., was brought to To Aroha from the Imperial Treasury this week, and sent to the Te Aroha Silver and Gold Mining Company's reduction works for treatment. The navcel of stone referred to, says the Te Aroha News, was broken out from a drive (in about 30 feet) on the main reef; the reef at this point being about 2ft. Oin. wide. The Imperial Treasury is a licensed holding of 10 acres, situated at Upper Tararu, Thames, and was taken up by the following (about nine months ago), who are the present owners: Messrs tt. Harris, .las. H. Rowe, .Jas. Don, J. Bew, and W. McClear.
