Aitkkk's Makkkt Report for Ihe week ending Xnvmuber 30 :—-V large amount of general business has been done, silt's neiiift held as follows:—Wednesday and Tluu-d.iy : Sales of Fiji fruits. The .shipment was unusually large, and much in bad condition ; all sold at satisfactory prices. Thursday : Tim property of the Lite Judge UillWwiw olfcrcd. There was a good attendanc.i', but the property was passed in at t'3,300. Tuesday and Friday : 'L'he usual sales of produce, fruit, and poultry. Friday's sale was a particularly heavy one, lasting seven hours without a break, with a large attendance, and brisk competition to the finish. New potatoes liav,e met with a better demand at slightly improved values ; old potatoes are difficult to quit at cost of freight. Wheat has been freely quitted at late values. Onions : But few to hand, at fair values. A large supply of vegetables at good prices. Bacon and hams have been quiet for sale. Cheese plentiful: demand very quiet at low rates. Butter: Prime fresh has met with fair demand, a good quantity to hand. Corned butter: Old make unsaleable: limited demand for extra prime now make only. Eggs : Large supply ; all sold at high prices. Fruit has been in better supply ; all sold at satisfactory price's. A few cherries to hand .sold at a high figure. In the poultry department there was a large supply of all kinds; ducks and fowls sold at fair values, geese and turkeys realised high prices. A good number of pigs were entered, prices satisfactory.
