DROWNING ACCIDENT.
(BY TKU'XiJUrH. —I'KESiS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Monday. This afternoon news reached town of a sad accident in the harbour olf Home Bay, Ponsonby, by which F. Dufaur, of Gi«; borne, and formerly of Auckland, lost his life. Dufaur was on a visit to his brothers, E. and I'. Dufaur. This morning he, with his brother Percy, saw that the yacht Maud was drifting from her moorings olf the bay, and they set out from the beach in a dingy to secure tho vessel. A very heavy sea was running, there being a strong north-easterly gale, and us they reached the Maud a great wave broke in over and filled tho dingy, which immediately sank. Percy Dufaur clambered on board the yacht, but his brother was swept away and was drowned. His body was afterwards washed up ou the beach. Deceased was a widower, 44 years of age.
