The case Railway Commissioners v. Armstrong was adjourned for a month, on tho application of Mr Hay, who appeared for the plaintiff, Mr Dyer, who appeared on behalf of the defendant, not objecting. Duncan Neilson, charged with being disorderly while drunk on October 20th, was fined 10s and costs. A second charge against the defendant for breaking a French window on the s:une date was withdrawn. In these cases Mr Hay appeared for the defendant, and Constable Murray conducted the case for the prosecution. Haiuvood v. AitMSTitoxc;.--Claim £8 lis for carting. Mr Hay for the plaintiff, and Mr O'Neill for defendant. The evidence of plaintiff and his son went to show that an agiwiinent had been made for the pliiiutift tn cart goods for the defendant from Tamahero to Waitetuna at 2">s per day. After ho had carted |,hree loads defendant knocked him off. 11, was agreed to tako horsefeed in part payment for carting, and 3:1 sacks were received worth about ,'ils.—Messrx T. and W. H. Ivelly deposed that 25s per day wan n fair cliargo for carting with a waggon and three horses and a man on the Waitetvna road,—Defendant stated that he made an agreement with plaintiff for him to do the carting at 23s per load, Defendant to supply the feed for the horse* while carting. The plaintiff agreed to take horse feed in payment for the carting, and for which there was a contra account for Jt'li (is, after plaintiff cartel two loads he knocked him u(F as he understood he wanted to charge '2->s per day.—The case was adjourned to next, court day in order to allow defendant .to bring a gouiHer-acfcion for feed,
