The first match of the season for the Waikafci Cricket Association cup, was played at Ohanpo on Saturday, by the. above club 3, and resulted in a victory for Tuhikaramea by 11 runs, both inning's bwing completed. The Cambridge team consisted of only 7 man, and although they have acquired n tower of strength in their new member Browning, they cannot expect to have a chance of winning the cup if they do not put full toauis in the field. The best exhibition of battinß was shown by Browning, while Norman did good service with the ball, in the- Hist innings taking five wickets for eight runs. Both these are new members of the Cambridge Club, and we sincerely trust the cricketers of that townhhip will tnke heart and rally round their captain, vhen they wea the metal the Hew members «re made of. For Tnhikaramea Reid and Daley both reached doutile figures.
