A KITTEN TRANSPORT.
A Kiit'ENT issue of the Buffalo Express publishes a story of a little grey kitten belonging to one of the police-stations of the city. Three prisoners were brought in one night ami locked up. The cellroom is a large apartment, the iron pens placed in tho centre, w itli openings facing the four walls. The women were on one side and the man on the other. Soon after they had been locked up tho women tried to relieve their feelings by preparing to smoke cigarettes bill they had no matches. The man, on the other hand, had matches, but no tobacco. While debating whatjto do the kittan came in the women's apartment and a warm friendship immediately sprang up between them. Theu came the idea of turning their new found friend to some practical use. The women took some tobacco, and tying it in a small bundle fastened it to the kitten's neck, and the man on the other side called the little animal, which immediately ran to him with its burden, which was removed, and some of his matches were placed about its neck and a call from the women brought it back to them.
