On Friday a much larger muster of horse stock was yarded than usual, many being heavy draught ot excellent quality ; on the whole prices were lower than for the past few markets. Unbroken heavy draught ranged frnm £17 to £23 ; medium draught, £7 to £11; a bugey, £14 ; saddles and bridles, £2 15s to £3 each.' Mutual concessions having been made between the buyers and auctioneers, the sale of hides, wool, aud sheepskins proceeded with more animation on Tuesday than customary. Ox hides ranged from 4ffd to 5d the lb ; cow hides, 2d to -2 jel; calf skins, .'Ud to 4}d tho lb; tallow, 17s (>d the cwt; butcher*' skins, 3s (id to 8s Id ; station skins, 3s to 6s; lamb akiti3, Is-to 2s 3d oach; wool in bags, 7d to tho lb; bones, 4s Gd the cwt. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle wore plentiful and at low values ; prices ranged from £2 to £3 10.s each. Store cattle in fair inquiry at late values. Fat cattle, in full numbers, scarcely kept last week's values. Prices for good steers were from l&t to 18s, cows 13s to 15s tha lOOlbs. Eighteen steers from the East Coast averaged £7 8s ; 20 steers from New Plymouth, £(> 10s, Calves, plentiful, were required. Young calves brought from Gs to 13s ; six months' calves, 30s to 35s each. Fat sheep were plentiful and lower in price la to 2s each ; wethere in their wool averaged 17s Gd ; shorn hoggets, Ss Gd. A draft of shorn wethers from Waitara were withdrawn at 12s. Fat lambs numerous, but required ; prices ranged for the greater part from 8s to 13s each. Pigs, of fair quality and moderate weights were plentiful, but kept their values, and coarse pigs of small size were also fairly competed for. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Keport.—Horse feed, seeds, grain : The demand has been slack for horse feed and grain, but there has been a little done in seeds for shipment to the home market. We quote : Oats, 2a 8d to 2s 10d per bushel; maize, 3s; pressed hay, £110s to £3 10a ; bran, £4 per ton; cocksfoot, 3s Gd per bushel. Horses: A steady demand has existed. The number brought forward has scarcely been large enough for requirements, nor has the stamp been good enough, but most of them have changed hands at fully previous values. There was an average muster at the Durham yards on Friday, and competition was steady throughout. We quote : Hacks, at from £5 10s to £l'J ; light harness hor.ses, £610s to£l3 10s ; medium draughts, £S to fc'lG 10s. Woo], hides, skins, etc. : Rather large quantities wore pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and competition was good. There was no noteworthy alteration in values. No very heavy ox were disposed of. We quote : Ox, from 2d to 4d per lb ; cow, l|d to 2jd per lb ; calf skins, to 4 ; ) d per lb ; sheepskins, from 2s Id to Cα 0d each ; pelts, 4d to 7d ; lambskins, lid to Is 4d each ; wool, 7.} d per lb' Cattle of all descriptions have come forward in sufficient numbers for requirements. Stores were not worth so much as on thu previous week, but dairy and fat stocks fully maintained previous values, The Newmarket yards were fairly tilled on Tuesday. The demand for dairy cows was steady, and for stores slow, but brisk for fat beasts and steers, at from 15s to 18s per 1001b ; cow, 12s to 10s. Some averages of steers were : £8, £G lGs od, £G Ss (id, £0 7s 9d, £5 17s 3d, £512s 3d, £", 12s ; cows: £4 10s, £1, £3 10s, £3 7s Gd. Sheep : Must of thu sheep yarded nt Newmarket were shorn wethers, which sold at from 13s 3d to 14s, and a larger number would have met ready sale. Lambs, scarce, sold at from 9s Gd to 13s 3d each.
