PIRONGIA ROAD BOARD.

A MKETING of the Pirongia Road Board was liiilil on the 12th inst. in the sehoolhmise, Htivnpipi. The trustees present _wero Messrs ,Ta.a. McGnirk (chairman), .T. H. Thompson, S. J. Bates, and the clerk, Mr .fas. Sherret. Tlio general rate of a halfpenny in the ii, proposed at the last meeting, was confirmed. —The Chairman stated tliat there would be no trouble in the matter of separating the Karamn ridiiiß from Pironptiii, as almost all the ratepayers in botli ridings were agreeable, and had signed the petition.—A letter was received from Mr W. Finlayson, junr., about some work ' ho wanted done, but from the disrespectful « tone of the letter, Mr Thompson proposed that 110 notice be taken of it, as the Board was supposed to use their own judgment on such matters, not to bo dictated to, —Mr S. J. Bales seconded tho proposition, as lie considered it a bad piecedent, he having heard that one or two more of the ratepayers intended to adopt Mr Finlayson's t.aetics if successful.—Several small jobs were brought before the notice of the meetin?, and it was docided that they should be done. —This concluded the business of the meeting.—(Own Correspondent.)
