PEACE OF EUROPE.
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH — COPYRIGHT.) Rome, October 10. SiGXOR Crispi, speaking at a banquet in Palermo (the capital of Sicily), said that, despite the complaints and threats which from time to time emanated from the Vatican, the temporal power would never be restored to the Papacy in Italy. He denied that the Italian Government had any aggressive designs on her neighbours, and said she merely sought to establish the peace of Europe on a firm basis. Italy was desirous of promoting the formation of an independent Balkan State.
