RESIDENT MAGISTRATES' COURT, HAMILTON.

Friday.—(Before Captain Jackson, R.M.) P. LkQuesnk v. Lio Mkdo.—Claim £15 His 3d for balanco of account for board and horse and buggy hire. Mr O'Neil appeared for defendant. The items disputed were for nine day's board overcharged, and the horso and buggy hire as being excessive. Plaintiff admitted tho overchargo for board, but contended that there had lioen no excessive charge for the horse and buggy hire, but that tho charges were really lower than those arranged for by the defendant. On two occasions the defendant had told him that the horso supplied had not been able to do the work, but for those times hire had only be«n charged for tho buggy. Defendant deposed that there had been no stated price for the hire of horses and buggy fixed on, but the plaintiff's son had promised to make *he charges as low as possible. He had been put to a great deal of inconvenience through the horses supplied by plaintiff not beinp able to do their work. After carefully going over each item of horse and buggy hire His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for £5 15s 3d and costs, A few unimportant cases were also dealt with.
