Railway Rki-oiim.— 'Ihe \Vaikato County Council wrote requesting tho Borough Council to appoint a delegate to attend a niKuliiiß of the representatives of the various local bodies in the. W'aikato, to be lipid in Hamilton on tho SAvd inst, to consider tho advisability of forming u Railway Reform League—After considerable clis-cu-Hiou between the Mayor and Cr. J). Richardson, in which His Worship waxed more eloquent than we have ever heard him on nny other subjeel, the former was deputed to attend the meeting.—A circular was also received from the Auckland Railway Reform League, likewise wanting a duU-K.itc appointed. It was thought the. local League would meet the case, and nothing further was done in tho matter. Tiik P.i'iiUicss Rom..—At his request, Mr Fawcett's name was substituted for that of Mr K. L. Hope, for section 'Mr,, on the burgrss roll, the Mayor intimating tho alteration was correct. The Clerk's account (£3O los -Id) will bo held over until more funds are in tho bank. The Works Committee rocoimnended that the fence on Kirkwuod's hill he repaired, at an estimated cost of £3 0* Bd, tho wire to be ho placed thatjct ttle could not get at tho poplar trees, several of which they have killed.—Both reports were adopted. Ckavkli.i.nc. — A committee wag appointed to consider a contemplated alteration in the specification of the gravel contract.
