Thk Marine Department has received a t"le«ram from the Officer of Customs at Mnngonui, stating that a man has arrived there, awl reports finding a large quantity of wreckage in Spirits Hay, apparently belonging to a ship of large dimension*. In the cablegram dated Valparaiso, September ISth., it was stated that the County of Carnarvon, which left Newcastle for Valparaiso, June Ist., is missins:, and a premium of sixty guineas was paid for re-insurance. Among the wreckage is a large board painted white, on which is the name County of Carnal von, in Eold letters.
