The Government Ims received a despatch from the Colonial Office stilting it has been deemed inexpedient tn alter the method of u]>pointitiK Governors. The Secretary of State points to the opposition of Victoria and Lhe probable opposition of Canada; also to the fact that no representation on the subject has been received from New Zealand and Tasmania.
